Piano Romances - Solo Recital
Sydney Piano World, Eastern Valley Way, Chatswood
Sydney, NSW, Australia

An afternoon of lavishly romantic program of 19th-century piano works. Tender melodies abound in the first two movements of Schubert's Sonata in A major, concluding with a charming lilt. Moments of quiet contemplation and sadness prevail in Chopin's Etudes. Liszt's virtuosic writing brings to live three remarkable scenes from Mozart's opera, Don Giovanni; Don Juan's encounter with the devil, the duet with Zerlina as he woos her, and the jubilant Champagne aria.

At the conclusion of the solo program, Samuel will be joined by his wife, Jane Kim, to perform Rachmaninoff's Romance for 2 pianos.
